In today’s world, “diversity” is a term that businesses and organizations use  to describe racial, gender, religious, generational and other differences among colleagues. To me, “diversity” is a very broad term, encompassing both the commonly acknowledged and the more subtle differences among us.

The experience of belonging is, I believe, core to our growth and happiness as humans. Whether in one’s personal or professional life, feeling that “I belong here” provides the safety to learn and grow together; therefore my work with groups implicitly centers on how to foster more inclusivity.

With regard to diversity and inclusion, I have several areas of interest and expertise:

  • Coaching, supporting, and fast-tracking women leaders, especially in “bro-ey” environments
  • Addressing white supremacy in organizations (especially regarding the responsibility of white people to acknowledge our own privilege and tunnel vision–which affects job recruitment, task delegation, evaluations, promotions, and team belonging/productivity.)
  • Bridging polarizing differences among Asian and American/European colleagues, by finding and operationalizing the “middle way”
  • Acknowledging and leveraging learning and style differences (in ways of thinking, processing information, prioritizing tasks, working “style” and communicating with colleagues.)
